COVID-19 UPDATE: 6-30-20
Due to increasing COVID cases throughout many states in the country, we have decided to update our policy for upcoming appointments. If you or anyone in your household has traveled outside of New York State, we ask that you please wait 14 days before coming in to see us for an appointment. Thank you for your cooperation. We are committed to keeping our patients and dental team as safe as possible.
COVID-19 UPDATE: 6-1-20
New Protocols For Appointments at Farmington Dental
As of June 1, we are fully open for business. Please know that we have been working hard to update and add improvements to our usual rigorous cleanliness standards in response to COVID-19.
We have updated certain aspects of the dental visit to increase safety:
-PLEASE WEAR A MASK. We do ask that each and every person in the building wear a mask (including each patient) so please remember to bring a mask. This includes children.
-PLEASE STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE WHEN YOU ARRIVE AND CALL US TO LET US KNOW YOU’VE ARRIVED. When we are ready for you we will come out, take your temperature, and ask you a series of standard COVID-19 screening questions. We will then escort you into the building and straight to a treatment room.
-We ask that only the patient themselves enter the building and all other family members wait in the car/outside the building. If necessary, for example if the patient is a small child, one accompanying adult will be permitted.
We have also installed medical grade HEPA filters in each treatment room that purify the air continuously. Lastly, we will be wearing extra layers of PPE (personal protective equipment) and each employee will be screened themselves at the start of each day..
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out and ask! Dr. Sturn cares deeply about the safety of her patients and dental team and has spent countless hours researching the new standards and protocols. We feel confident we can deliver you the same great care you are used to in a very safe environment.
What sets us apart from other offices? You will notice right away how relaxed and friendly the environment is at Farmington Dental, the new office of Dr. Alicia Sturn. We will greet you by name and be able to ask about your family and interests because we have taken the time to get to know you.
Our philosophy is, how would we treat our best friend or family member if they came in to see us? We believe in taking a conservative approach to our treatment recommendations. No one wants to visit the dentist and leave with a costly list of recommended treatment that you probably don't really need. We get that!
Our goal is to make sure your smile is healthy and looking its best. We think it is important to educate our patients so they can choose the treatment that's best for them. We pride ourselves on using the most current technology while ensuring that you are always comfortable and as relaxed as possible.
We are happy to offer a dental home for your entire family. We are a kid-friendly office and find it refreshing to interact with young minds. In treating children, we are patient, take our time to make sure they are comfortable, and it doesn't hurt that we can play their favorite tv show while we work if it helps to put them at ease!
If you currently hate going to the dentist, maybe it's time to try Farmington Dental!
(New name, New location, Same Great Service!)
Our main purpose is to help you maintain a healthy smile. At each prophylaxis (cleaning) appointment, we complete a comprehensive examination of not only your gums and teeth but head and neck area as well. This includes taking digital radiographs (if needed), an oral cancer screening and evaluation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Fluoride treatment, nutrition counseling, and sealants are offered as needed.
This happens to be Dr. Sturn's favorite area of dentistry! We want every patient to have the smile they've always dreamed of. We would love the opportunity to sit down with you and discuss how we can help you reach that goal. Some of the cosmetic services we offer include whitening, veneers, crowns, and implants.
If you do have a problem with a tooth, we are here to help. Whether your tooth becomes decayed, is chipped, cracked or even breaks, we have a solution. If it is a small issue, it can likely be resolved with a composite (tooth-colored) "filling". Larger problems can be taken care of with crowns, bridges, or implants. We can also help if your needs include partials or dentures (implant-supported or traditional) to replace more extensive areas of missing teeth.
If you're in pain, chances are you need help right away, not in two weeks from now! We understand that and make every effort to offer same day treatment. In fact, we set aside time in our schedules so that we can accomodate our patients should they have an unexpected issue that needs immediate attention .
Did we mention we love seeing kids at our office? Exams, cleanings, fluoride application, orthodontic intervention, space maintenance, whatever your child needs, we've got you covered. And yes, they can expect to visit the treasure chest at the end of each visit!
Even saying the words"root canal" out loud can make most people shudder. We are here to tell you, they are really no big deal! If a tooth becomes infected or a cavity gets too big , it can enter the nerve canal of a tooth, causing pain. Root canal therapy is then required to save the tooth. The most typical comment we get after a patient finishes a root canal procedure at our office is, "That's it? That wasn't bad at all!"
